The World Beyond the Inuksuk is the inviting digital storytelling companion to the stop-motion children’s TV series Beyond the Inuksuk. The website will provide a rich, interactive experience that will entertain and inform young children about the Inuit legends, myths, and folktales featured in the series, in both English and Inuktitut, with additional background information and content, including original webisodes.

Director’s Notes:

Taking design inspiration directly from the graphic style of Beyond the Inuksuk, the characters from the series will be brought to life in a storybook setting, sharing their backstories and other interesting information about Inuit life. Each time a user visits the site, they will have the opportunity to choose a character who will be their guide, providing access to unique stories and learning opportunities, which the user can advance through as quickly or as slowly as they wish.

Webisodes will provide background information about many of the mythical creatures that appear in Beyond the Inuksuk, including the Ogress of the Gravelbank, the People with No Necks, the Wind Giants, and many more. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to learn about the giants, monsters, and strange creatures that have peopled Inuit myth for centuries.
